Card Games You Can Play in Bed (while sick with a Chronic Illness)! from The Modern Diary

In June, I wrote an article for a new online CFS Magazine debut but somehow it did not make the debut. I am not sure if the editor plans to use it in a future issue (she requested it from me) but I have been waiting to post the info here is case someone searching the internet for how to cope with CFS/ME or fatigue or POTS some other illness that requires lots of feet up time can find it.  I really believe finding solo gaming has really helped me to cope with my sudden loss of energy.

These ...

Catching You Up! Sewing, Health, Gaming, In Hand Games from The Modern Diary

I have not been doing much sewing lately as life has been hectic.  My fatigue had improved a bit, then got worse again and so sewing goes by the wayside as I try to get more rest.  I cannot recall if I shared these snowmen which I sewed on two different days I did get in here.  One to go before I can assemble it into a cute wall hanging. I just love snowmen!

This is Cascadia above. In this picture I am playing it solo with an AI, just as fun as having a partner.
I have been gaming ...

Hodpodge! from The Modern Diary

On Easter we went to Hannah and Jeremy's.  I got a semi good picture of Hazel and I...she tends to not want to pose when I have makeup on!  We played Doomlings while the kids napped which was fun.
I got a picture of my Friends All Around quilt outside finally.
I sewed with Becky and Barb last Thursday and Becky was working on her Merry Mayhem mystery from NYD #148 so Barb and I were trying to find ours on the blog and I realized neither made it there.  So here is my finished (back in January ...

Mystery Progress Continues--and rejoining the Rainbow Scrap Challenge! from The Modern Diary

Stopped in to see Hazel last week.  She loves her tummy time!  Learned how to play Sylvion and it is my new favorite solo game!
Grassy Creek's reveal came out....paused from it and....Sewed up the clue for Morewood Mystery, looks like candy.  Next clue in a month so it will be waiting.
Today I sewed online with Dr. Kathy, Becky, and Barb...had some issues with the Pine Tree Point Quiltville quilt....I decided to make one block a month for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge since I have missed doing it the past few years.
Lots of ...

One Mystery Done! Project Quilting! from The Modern Diary

My 3rd annual Project Quilting Mystery Quiltalong top is done.  Super fun and superfast since I did all but two clues on one day.  Very fun and bright and will find its way to someone I am sure.  Linking up with the quiltalong!
I am waiting for the first clue in the Debi Montgomery mystery...she gave us a sneak peak so I know what it is, but still waiting on the directions.  Looking forward to a day of sewing..and tomorrow I will do the Merry Mayhem mystery (while Grassy Creek will have to wait!).  So while waiting, I ...

Christmas with the Youngest and Mystery Quilts are Caught Up! from The Modern Diary

Two blog posts in one day since I cannot figure out how to schedule this one like I used to!
We went and saw Jay the day after Christmas.  He liked his gifts and his stocking.  While we were there we had pizza and played "The Game," "Blokus," (which he gifted us) and "Five Crowns," which is a long time favorite game.
My Once Upon a Time advent box came super late on Christmas Eve.  Read two stories a day and opened my gifts.  We got four books in the box!  Really fun stuff.
Here is clue five of Grassy ...

Geese on a String and Holiday Happenings! from The Modern Diary

Geese on a String progress happened between Grassy Creek Clues.
Bug had to pose with the first few rows.

And the flimsy is complete.

My November book box finally arrived and I read it right away.  Still waiting on December and sadly, the advent box too.

Gudrun Erla did a video on December 15th for these Woven Heart ornaments, which remind me of Norway so I bought the supplies and had to make a few.  This year only the kids and my Goddaughter will get one, next year maybe more folks.  They are fun to make!

I am still working ...

Grassy Creek Clue Three, Grandbaby and More from The Modern Diary

Took me two days but I completed Grassy Creek Clue three.  Looking forward to tomorrow's clue.

My brother and his wife sent us this little tree which is supposed to promote healing.  It is so pretty and goes well on the bookshelf right by my favorite little hedgehog from Margarite!
I wish this ornament still worked...it made the most ANNOYING cheep, cheep, cheep, CHEEP, noise which I begged to listen to as a kid.  It was on my Grandma Char and Papa DeLos' tree.  They always hid it at the back, but I always remembered it and would ...

Grassy Creek Clue Two from The Modern Diary

Clue two for Grassy Creek is complete.  Tiny little hourglasses.  I went with the old rotary cutting method and with Barb's help we figured out the Math wrong.  I did each step all the way through and it was not til I got to the put the HST's together to make the actual hourglasses that I realized I had made TWICE as many as I needed!  So I stopped at that step with half of them and am crossing my fingers they come up in a future clue (HAHAHAHHAHH!) but if not, I will use them somewhere.  Barb ...

Lions, and Hexies and More, Oh My! from The Modern Diary

I have been hand sewing hexies in front of the TV again.  Kathy has to do passive arm exercises to help her shoulder heal so we watched two seasons of The Umbrella Academy and started Schitt's Creek.  Lots of stitching while sitting in my new recliner.  There is already another row on this quilt which has been sitting around getting no attention for several years.

I asked to visit the Tosa Quilters (though was too tired to go to the meeting) so I got on their mailing list and found out about a 35 minutes away fabric sale. Since ...

Sewing, Gaming and Quarantining Continue from The Modern Diary

I needed some cheery sewing so I finally made a Garden Party Table Runner.  I decided to make it to match my quilt (from the Quiltville Cruise) with the green running throughout.  These blocks are really fun to make and come together quickly.
It is now all layered with batting and backing and ready for me to quilt. Here are Sunshine and Bug who cannot resist getting into the photos.
Someone on Quiltville showed a layout of the Easy Breezy leaders and enders with friendship stars.   I had just been digging in my leftover bin and realized I had a ...
